Skin, hair and nails — evidence first

Most beauty, skin, hair and nail health content online is a press release with a byline, or the same few sources rewritten. Nuvirela works more narrowly: one question at a time, read against the research, with the uncertainty left in.

About us  ·  How we review  ·  Medical disclaimer

What we cover

Skin & Ageing

Collagen, retinoids, sun damage and what genuinely helps.

Hair Health

Thinning, shedding and the supplements sold for both.

Nails

The smallest evidence base in the category.

Beauty Ingredients

Ingredient reviews with dose and evidence grade.

Topicals vs Supplements

When the route of delivery is the whole argument.

How we decide what to publish

  • We start from primary research — trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses — not from other people’s articles.
  • We read the methods. Sample size, duration and funding all change how much a finding is worth.
  • For any ingredient we check the dose actually studied against the dose typically supplied.
  • Where evidence is thin, animal-only or industry-funded, we say so.

We do not sell supplements, we do not take payment for a favourable review, and no brand sees our copy before publication. Full disclosure.
